Our new home has beautiful original wood floors. But some of them could use a glossing/cleaning, and others (cough...upstairs...cough) could use a total buff and redo. I have very little experience cleaning and caring for wood floors. Would anyone like to give me their best tips? We were thinking of getting a Swiffer Wet Jet, but that's as far as we'd gotten.
Cleaning them quickly is the best way to prevent lasting stains. Using a vacuum cleaner is the best way to remove dirt, gravel, sand, and stones. And don't forget to use the right cleaners for your floors.
